The Take Flight Project is an initiative to bring Adaptive Learning Systems and Multiple Intelligence theories together to provide an educational experience that will leave no child behind.

The efforts of these three companies will be to enrich the educational experiences for all ages, with a focus on each learner's experience.

Adaptive Learning Systems are designed to recognize that a student isstruggling on a topic and to adapt the students experience in order to prevent them from failing.

Multiple Intelligence Theory is the idea that everyone learns in different ways. There are currently 8 ways that have been accepted into the theory, but all people have a varying level of competency in all the intelligences.

bullet Linguistic intelligence ("word smart"):
bullet Logical-mathematical intelligence ("number/reasoning smart")
bullet Spatial intelligence ("picture smart")
bullet Bodily-Kinesthetic intelligence ("body smart")
bullet Musical intelligence ("music smart")
bullet Interpersonal intelligence ("people smart")
bullet Intrapersonal intelligence ("self smart")
bullet Naturalist intelligence ("nature smart")

The theory of multiple intelligences was developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard Gardner, professor of education at Harvard University. It suggests that the traditional notion of intelligence, based on I.Q. testing, is far too limited. Instead, Dr. Gardner proposes eight different intelligences to account for a broader range of human potential in children and adults.

Some of the other leading experts I have been in contact with in order to better understand MI Theory are Thomas Armstrong and Ellen Weber.

We will come up with better solutions for educating special needs students, like those with ADHD, without overdosing them with unnecesary medicines.
